Scopus AI is based on natural language processing (NLP). Instead of using keywords or Boolean logic operators, you can type a question, statement, or hypothesis in natural language into the search bar. The AI will analyze your query and generate a response based on the abstracts of articles available in the Scopus database. Questions can be asked in multiple languages, but responses will always be provided in English.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To use the tool, go to the database page and select Scopus AI from the bar above the search box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To perform a search, type your question into the search box. For the best results, it is important to formulate clear and detailed questions about your research topic. The more precise the question, the easier it is for the AI to find relevant articles. Below the search box, you will find a few examples of how to formulate your question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the results page, you will see a summary of your topic (Figure 3), the sources used to generate the summary (Figure 4), and the most influential articles on the topic (Figure 5)\u2014these are the articles that have been cited the most among the works used for the summary. Scopus generates summaries based on articles published since 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the summary, there are various options for continuing (Figure 6):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expanded Summary<\/strong> \u2014 Provides a more comprehensive and in-depth response. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concept map<\/strong> \u2014 A downloadable visual that uses keywords to provide a bird\u2019s-eye view of the topic space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Topic experts<\/strong> \u2014 Identify the leading authors based on your query alongside explanations of their relevant expertise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emerging themes <\/strong>\u2014 a new feature that identifies and categorizes established, rising, and novel themes based on Scopus AI user queries.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go deeper<\/strong> \u2014 Offers relevant queries for further exploration, leading to deeper insights in various research fields<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assignment.<\/strong> Search for materials related to your research topic using Scopus AI. Analyze the retrieved materials. Are the results relevant to your topic? Are the authors of the articles well-known and reliable researchers? Do the references appear to be of high quality? Does the concept map help better understand the topic\u2019s structure and key trends? What conclusions can you draw based on your search results? Was Scopus AI helpful for delving deeper into the topic, or do you need to use other search strategies as well?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
