Our multidisciplinary centre brings together expertise in genomics, bioinformatics, data science, clinical medicine, public health and socio-economic analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"289\" height=\"248\" src=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/866\/image-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-484\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In collaboration with University of Helsinki, Erasmus Medical Centre and Erasmus University Rotterdam, we are developing a scalable framework to translate genomic, health, lifestyle and environmental data into personalised medicine tools. These tools aim to support clinical decision-making by guiding prevention and treatment strategies for chronic and hereditary diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TeamPerMed research is focused on <strong>applying AI and real-world data <\/strong>from registries, biobanks and electronic health records to <strong>identify high-risk individuals <\/strong>early and <strong>explore targeted interventions<\/strong> to help prevent or delay disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the coming years, we will develop clinically relevant tools, including <strong>polygenic risk scores<\/strong>, <strong>pharmacogenomic applications <\/strong>and <strong>clinical decision support systems<\/strong>. These will be validated through <strong>(pre)clinical trials<\/strong>, considering the perspectives of clinicians, patients and healthcare systems. Our research also examines the feasibility of integrating these innovations into <strong>clinical practice<\/strong> and <strong>public health<\/strong>, alongside their socio-economic and long-term decision makers \u00a0on matters related to health data as well as the development of infrastructure and legal frameworks concerning patient genetic data.
