The course examines how traditional craft knowledge and contemporary repair practices can contribute to current sustainability transitions. Particular attention is given to the role of repair in extending product lifecycles, supporting sustainable material cultures, reducing waste, and strengthening local knowledge systems. At the same time, the course addresses the challenge of safeguarding practical craft skills and cultural heritage in a rapidly changing world.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-block mb-3\">\n\t\t<div class=\"accordion \" id=\"accordion-accordion-6ac22536d9745\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item accordion-item--white\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"accordion-6ac22536d9745-heading-1\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#accordion-6ac22536d9745-collapse-1\" aria-expanded=\"true\" aria-controls=\"accordion-6ac22536d9745-collapse-1\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPreparatory Assignment\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"accordion-6ac22536d9745-collapse-1\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-6ac22536d9745-heading-1\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-body pt-0\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Before arriving, participants are asked to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make a name tag which can be attached to your clothing (for example, on the chest). First name is sufficient. The tag should reflect the wearer\u2019s interests and, why not, your country of origin as well;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Find an inspiring example of repair, reuse, or material upcycling;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bring a repaired, transformed, or otherwise meaningful object (or a photograph of it);<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a short presentation about the object, its story, the repair process, or its significance. The examples of repaired objects will be shared during the course seminars;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be sure to check out the course programme and Repair Festival list of workshops. The Centrum Hotel and the course venue is located just a short walking distance away from Viljandi Bus Station. <a href=\"https:\/\/uhistransport.tpilet.ee\/en\">Detailed bus information.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The other option to come to Viljandi is train.<br>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/elron.ee\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Train information.<\/a><br>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/peatus.ee\/pysakit\/estonia%3A28589\/aikataulu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Public buses driving between Viljandi train station and the city centre.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Accommodation<\/h3>\n<p>Accommodation will be provided in Centrum Hotel Viljandi (Tallinn str 24). <strong>The room allocations will be made by the organizers and confirmed with each of the project partner institutions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Centrum Hotel<\/em> is located in the city center \u2013 just a few steps away from cafes, restaurants, shopping and the enchanting Old Town, where the charm of small and romantic Viljandi unfolds differently in every season. The breakfasts are included in the accommodation price. Check-in from 16.00 and check-out until 12.00. Silent time from 23.00 to 7.00. Distance from Vilma building about 500 meters.<\/p>\n<h3>Venue, meals, stores<\/h3>\n<p>The lectures, seminars and workshops will take place in Vilma study building \u2013 Turu 7, Viljandi. During the Repair Festival, many of the workshops will take place outdoors. Please bring suitable clothes and footwear for outdoor activities and walks.<\/p>\n<p>During the course programme, there will be a coffee room open on the second floor of Vilma building where all the participants can get coffee, tea and water during the whole day and snacks during the announced breaks. There are mugs, etc in the kitchen corner. Each person is expected to wash their own used mug.<\/p>\n<p>3 lunches are provided by the organizers, also supper on the welcoming and farewell evening.
