Estonia Becomes the First Country to Deliver Its In-Kind Contribution to the European Spallation Source
The European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, is a next-generation neutron scattering facility being built jointly by 13 European countries, with the goal of creating the world’s most powerful accelerator-based neutron source.
Under the leadership of the University of Tartu, Estonia has become the first member state of the ESS consortium to fully complete and deliver all of its in-kind contributions to the construction of the facility. This milestone highlights Estonia’s strong expertise in advanced research, engineering, and international scientific collaboration, contributing key components, software, and scientific systems to one of the world’s leading neutron research infrastructures.
