{"id":49,"date":"2020-08-27T21:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-04-04T03:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/neareu1\/post-1\/"},"modified":"2024-04-04T06:38:55","modified_gmt":"2024-04-04T03:38:55","slug":"post-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/neareu1\/post-1\/","title":{"rendered":"New Jean Monnet teaching module &#8220;NearEU&#8221; approved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<strong>The Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies has received funding from the European \u00a0Commission to develop a new teaching module on the neighbourhood and enlargement of the European Union.<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe application for the teaching module\u00a0NearEU\u00a0(Neighbourhood Enlargement and Regionalism in Europe) \u2013 related to Europeanization of the European Union\u2019s Eastern neighbourhood, candidate countries, and \u00a0wider Europe \u2013 has been selected for funding by the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet programme. It is the only approved Jean Monnet activity led by an Estonian institution in the 2020 round of applications.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe project is coordinated by the University of Tartu and led by Dr. Stefano Braghiroli \u2013 Associate Professor of European Studies and Director of the Master\u2019s Programme in \u201cEuropean Union \u2013 Russia Studies\u201d \u2013 and Ms. Anna Beitane \u2013 Manager of Online Learning Projects at the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies. It includes a network of partners from Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Montenegro, Poland, and Ukraine. Particular attention is devoted to the involvement of junior instructors and early stage researchers.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe approved Jean Monnet module aims to create new knowledge, tools, and resources related to the evolution of partners\u2019 and candidates\u2019 relationship with the EU and alternative models of regionalism.\u00a0NearEU\u00a0is functional to the creation and the support of a new \u201cEuropean Union \u2013 Russia Studies\u201d module within the framework of the master\u2019s programme in \u201cInternational relations and regional studies\u201d at the J. Skytte Institute of Political Studies.
