{"id":19,"date":"2024-04-04T01:33:46","date_gmt":"2024-04-03T22:33:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/namurplus\/tem\/"},"modified":"2026-01-11T00:33:18","modified_gmt":"2026-01-10T22:33:18","slug":"tem_services","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/namurplus\/tem_services\/?lang=en","title":{"rendered":"HR-TEM services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Institute of Physics at University of Tartu offers possibility to use <strong><em>high resolution analytical transmission electron microscope (HR-TEM) <\/em><\/strong>services for determination of solid\/condensed matter structure, including crystal structure analyses via electron diffraction; determination of particles and crystallites size; defect location and analyses; determination of chemical (except H and He) composition by Energy Dispersive x-ray Spectroscopy (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Energy-dispersive_X-ray_spectroscopy\">EDS<\/a>), chemical shift measurements by Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Electron_energy_loss_spectroscopy\">EELS<\/a>); determination and visualization of existence, distribution and concentration of elements \u2013 all of this in micro-, nano- and sub-nanometer level with a spatial resolution of <strong>0.08 nm<\/strong>. For HR-TEM measurements, the bulk samples need to be thinned to sub micrometer thickness while nanoparticles have to be deposited onto a special sample holder.
