Results showed the following:<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t<span style=\"line-height:normal\"><span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Those who were more self-critical were less likely to be able to motivate themselves, and also less likely to reach their goals, then those who treated themselves with more compassion.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t<span style=\"line-height:normal\"><span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Researchers concluded that self-criticism is a risk factor in the pursuit of personal goals, and increased risk of setbacks along the way.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height:normal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Overcoming negative self-criticism takes time and consistent practice.
