{"id":214,"date":"2024-04-04T08:44:50","date_gmt":"2024-04-04T05:44:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/mobiletartu2024\/abstract-submission\/"},"modified":"2026-02-09T17:20:51","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T15:20:51","slug":"call-for-papers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/mobiletartu2026\/call-for-papers\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Papers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"height:18px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thank you for your interest in the Mobile Tartu 2026 Conference and PhD School!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><span style=\"color: #0000cd;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/survey.ut.ee\/index.php\/286281?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ABSTRACT SUBMISSION<\/a> IS NOW CLOSED!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u25ba\u00a0<\/strong>Abstract submission is open until <s>16 January 2026<\/s> <strong>31 January 2026<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u25ba\u00a0<\/strong>Each author may present <strong>only one paper<\/strong> at the conference (including the PhD School), but may be listed as a <strong>co-author<\/strong> on multiple papers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u25ba\u00a0<\/strong>Based on the evaluation and acceptance of abstracts, participants will be invited to present either a poster or an oral presentation. In the abstract submission form, authors can also indicate their own preference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u25ba <\/strong>Those who wish to <strong>participate in the PhD School<\/strong> (7-10 June) are encouraged to submit an abstract to the conference, as they will be prioritised in being considered for attendance in the PhD School due to a limited number of places. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u25ba <\/strong>Abstract submission is mandatory for EIT Urban Mobility <strong>Doctoral Training Network<\/strong> <strong>members <\/strong>who wish to participate in the PhD School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u25ba\u00a0How to Submit Your Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Download the template<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/914\/2026_abstract_template.docx\">Abstract_Template.docx<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prepare your abstract<\/strong> following the template.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Create a PDF file <\/strong>from the filled template and rename it (Last name_First name_Short title).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/survey.ut.ee\/index.php\/286281?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">submission form<\/a><\/strong> on LimeSurvey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Upload your abstract<\/strong> <strong>file <\/strong>to the submission form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Submit<\/strong>: Send your submission through LimeSurvey.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u25ba\u00a0Abstract requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><u>The body of the abstract should be 400-600 words in length.<\/u><br>It must include the following subheadings: Motivation and Objective, Study Design\/Data and Methods\/Approach, Findings\/Results, and Originality\/Value\/Impact. A maximum of five citations and one illustrative element (figure, table, or graphical abstract) with a relevant caption are allowed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Topics and Themes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mobile Tartu 2026 features three special themes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9ba90108d3cc89ff1d5318abbd10bf46\"><strong>Activity space studies informing just and sustainable societies<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-64ccdeab3885aee3fde2d32111d7f947\"><strong>Multilocal living and cross-border interactions in digital transition<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7ce7d27c08f0ea813398feaa67bfb588\"><strong>Mobility data justice in research and governance<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the special themes, we welcome <strong>a broad range of contributions on human mobility based digital data sources<\/strong>\u2014such as mobile phone, smartphone applications, GPS, social media, smart card, bike share, e-scooters\u2014and their combination with qualitative insights, to discuss the following (but not limited to):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Travel behaviour and accessibility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Socio-spatial and environmental inequalities and human wellbeing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social networks in space and their transformation with digitalisation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disruption management and spatial (im)mobility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Domestic and international tourism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connectivity and interactions from local to global scales<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Land use and transport planning with the incorporation of new mobility solutions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Urban transformations and the quality of the living environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Population studies and official statistics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Data privacy, surveillance, ethics, and open research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Methodological advances in human mobility research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI approaches for analysing human mobility and enhancing location-based services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you for your interest in the Mobile Tartu 2026 Conference and PhD School!
