Travelling to Tartu\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Please take the time to plan your travels, choosing the most environmentally friendly options and compensating for your environmental impact whenever possible.<\/p>\n

Direct Flight to Tartu<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Tartu has a direct\u00a0flight connection to Helsinki. This line is operated by Finnair and tickets can be bought from their website<\/a>. This line operates on all days except Saturdays and there are 2 flights each day. Tartu airport is located about 10 km away from the town center, more information can be found on the Tartu aiport website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Via Tallinn<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The main international airport is located in the capital Tallinn with direct flights from most of the major European cities. Information on airlines and schedules is available on the website\u00a0of\u00a0Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport<\/a>.<\/p>\n

You can also reach Estonia by a ferry. There is a regular connection available both from Stockholm and Helsinki to Tallinn. The main ferry operators are\u00a0Tallink\/Silja Line<\/a>,\u00a0Viking Line<\/a>,\u00a0and\u00a0Ecker\u00f6 Line<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Travel from Tallinn to Tartu<\/strong><\/h4>\n

From Tallinn Airport, we recommend to take a frequent Lux Express (buy ticket in advance\u00a0https:\/\/luxexpress.eu\/en<\/a>) bus to Tartu. Travel time is 2,25 hours. Buses depart from 7\u00a0AM to 11:30 PM after every 30 or 60\u00a0minutes. There is no need to print out the ticket, you can just show your ticket\u2019s QR code from your smartphone. Bus stop is located on the city side of the passenger\u2019s terminal, next to the tram stop. If you need to get to the city center or Tallinn main bus station, it is convenient to use the tram line 4 from the airport to the city.<\/p>\n

\u00dclemiste train stop is also nearby and enables travelling to Tartu via train.\u00a0You can buy the tickets up to one week in advance (https:\/\/elron.pilet.ee\/en\/<\/a>) with a discount or at the train. We recommend choosing\u00a0the express departures that have a travel time of 2 hours. Only first class tickets\u00a0guarantee a fixed seat.\u00a0There is no need to print out the ticket, you can just show your ticket\u2019s bar code from your smartphone.<\/p>\n

From Tallinn ferry terminal, it is also possible to use the train connection to Tartu. The main railway station (Balti Jaam)\u00a0is within 25 minutes walking distance from the terminal.<\/p>\n
