Arriving to Estonia
The main international airport is located in the capital Tallinn with direct flights from most of the major European cities. Tartu can be reached by direct flight from Helsinki only. Information on airlines and schedules is available on the websites of Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport and Tartu Airport.
You can also reach Estonia by ferry. There is regular connection available from Stockholm and Helsinki to Tallinn. The main ferry operators are Tallink/Silja Line, Viking Line and Eckerö Line.
Arriving from Tallinn Airport to Tartu
From Tallinn Airport we recommend to take a frequent Lux Express (buy ticket in advance https://luxexpress.eu/en) bus to Tartu. Travel time is 2,5 hours. Buses depart from 6.30 AM to 11 PM after every 30 minutes. There is no need to print out the ticket. You can just show your ticket’s QR-code from your smartphone. Bus stop is located on the city side of the passenger’s terminal, next to the tram stop. If you need to get to the city center or Bus station it is really convenient to use tram line 4 from Airport to the city.
For late arrival to Tallinn Airport book transfer from Tartaline. The cost of the transfer is around 20 euros.
Arriving from Tartu Airport
