On \u00fcks levinumatest mineraalidest maakoores (12%). K\u00f5va mineraal (v\u00f5imeline kriimustama klaasi), kuulub paljude tard- ja moondekivimite (n\u00e4iteks\u00a0<a data-url=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/mineraalid-ja-kivimid\/graniit\" href=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/mineraalid-ja-kivimid\/graniit\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">graniidi<\/a>,\u00a0<a data-url=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/mineraalid-ja-kivimid\/rabakivi1-jpg\" href=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/mineraalid-ja-kivimid\/rabakivi1-jpg\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">rabakivi<\/a>, kvartsporf\u00fc\u00fcri,\u00a0<a data-url=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/mineraalid-ja-kivimid\/gneiss1-jpg\" href=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/mineraalid-ja-kivimid\/gneiss1-jpg\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">gneisi<\/a>\u00a0ja\u00a0<a data-url=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/mineraalid-ja-kivimid\/kvartsiit4-jpg\" href=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/mineraalid-ja-kivimid\/kvartsiit4-jpg\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">kvartsiidi<\/a>) koostisse. Nendes kivimites esineb ta tavaliselt korrap\u00e4ratute teradena, millel on valge kuni tumehall rasvaselt l\u00e4ikiv pind.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tKvarts on\u00a0<a data-url=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/mineraalid-ja-kivimid\/liiv1-jpg\" href=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/mineraalid-ja-kivimid\/liiv1-jpg\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">liiva<\/a>\u00a0olulisim koostisosa. Tavaliselt kujutab endast 80-90% liivateradest \u00fcmardunud kvartsikristalle.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tL\u00e4bipaistvad v\u00e4rvitud kristallid on tuntud\u00a0<b>m\u00e4ekristallina<\/b>\u00a0(fotod 1, 2, 3), tumedad pruunikad kristallid\u00a0<b>suitsukvartsina<\/b>\u00a0(foto 5), must kvarts moorionina, violetne\u00a0<b>amet\u00fcstina<\/b>\u00a0(fotod 6, 7, 8).\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tKristalli pindadel on j\u00e4lgitav ristiviirutus (fotod 2, 3),\u00a0<b>k\u00f5vadus 7<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tKvarts on tardkivimite oluliseks koostismineraaliks. Esineb samuti soonte n\u00e4ol.
