Yanyu is in her final stage of doctoral studies at the University of Newcastle and is working with us on the Estonian Research Council project \u201cNative Language Experience and the Brain\u2019s Perception and Learning of a Foreign Language,\u201d focusing on the learning of Mandarin tones by Estonian and English native speakers.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pria\u2019s MA thesis examines the learning of Estonian quantity among Chinese native speakers. We want to see how Chinese speakers benefit from their native-language experience in learning Estonian quantity, especially the tonal component.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Emily\u2019s MA thesis examines the emotions experienced by Russian-speaking students who major in a subject taught in Estonian, a foreign language to them. We aim to investigate how the control-value appraisals of the subject and the control-value appraisals of the foreign language interact to influence their emotions during the learning process.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n
