What has to be done with sugar beets?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The most typical Livonian modal construction, which expresses an obligation, can be recognized by its verb ending <em><strong>m\u00f5st<\/strong><\/em>. The question <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-primary-color\"><em>Mis u\u2019m t\u012bem\u00f5st?<\/em><\/mark> could be translated into English, for example, as \u2018What has to be done?\u2019 \/ \u2018What must be done?\u2019 (see Section 6.2 for more details).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exercise below contains instructions describing what to do with sugar beets from planting to their arrival at the factory. The instructions are taken from the book \u201cEsperantist Le\u0163m\u0101l l\u012bvlist j\u016bs\u00f5\u201d (An Esperantist in Latvia visits the Livonians) by Hilda Gr\u012bva, P\u0113t\u00f5r Damberg, and Ints \u010ca\u010de.
