LoD and LoQ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\r\n\tThis section addresses the performance parameters that are related to the ability of the method to detect, identify and quantify low analyte levels in samples:\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t\tLimit of detection (LoD) (also called detection limit) \u2013 the smallest amount or concentration of the analyte in the test sample that can be reliably distinguished from zero [ref 12].\r\n\t<\/li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t\tDecision limit (CC<sub>\u03b1<\/sub>) \u2013 the concentration level, as determined by the method, at which there is a probability \u03b1 (usually defined as 0.05 or 5%) that a blank sample will give a signal at this level or higher.\r\n\t<\/li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.4285\">Detection capability (CC<\/span><sub>\u03b2<\/sub><span style=\"line-height: 1.4285\">) \u2013 the concentration level of the analyte in the sample at which there is a probability \u03b2 (again usually defined as 0.05 or 5%) that the method will give a result lower than CC<\/span><sub>\u03b1<\/sub><span style=\"line-height: 1.4285\">, meaning that the analyte will be declared as undetected.<\/span>\r\n\t<\/li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t\tLimit of quantitation (LoQ) \u2013 the lowest concentration of the analyte that can be determined with an acceptable repeatability and trueness.\r\n\t<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\n\t<br>\u00a0\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/lcms_method_validation\/91-definitions-and-important-aspects\">9.1.
