INTERNATIONAL COGNITIVE LINGUISTICS CONFERENCE 10-14 July 2017 Tartu, Estonia

Social event, dinner, and poster session at the Estonian National Museum

Following the traditions of the ICLC-s, the second half of Wednesday (12 July) is reserved for social activities. This year, the social event is combined with the poster session, as the chosen venue offers an unique opportunity for this.

The programme takes place in our recently opened Estonian National Museum, about a half-hour walk away from the University. The participants are welcome to join the guided city walk to get to the venue or may choose to find the way themselves. There will also be transport available. The event at the museum includes a guided tour at the Finno-Ugric exhibition and a visit to the main/permanent exhibition, a possibility to participate in various ethnographic workshops for a small extra charge (read more about the workshops here), and a chance to visit the museum’s gift-shop which is well-stocked with local handicrafts.

The museum is also the venue of the poster session which will be held parallel to the exhibition tours. The posters will be set up in a spacious hall and will be easily accessible to all participants. The evening will finish with a buffet-dinner with traditional Estonian cuisine accompanied by Estonian folk-music and traditional dances.

The fee of the event covers the museum ticket, guided tours and the dinner. The ethnographic workshops have an additional fee for interested participants. Please note that the workshops have an attendance limit, which will fill up on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register for these events through the conference registration page.

Fee of the event (museum ticket, guided tours, dinner): ICLA member 30 EUR, non-member 40 EUR
