Uuringute keskmes on alternatiivsete odavate p\u00e4ikesepatarei absorbermaterjalide ning p\u00e4ikesepatarei struktuuride arendamine. K\u00e4esoleval hetkel on fookuses maakoores laialtlevinud elementidest koosnevad kesteriitsed pooljuhtmaterjalid Cu<sub>2<\/sub>ZnSnSe<sub>4<\/sub> ja Cu<sub>2<\/sub>ZnSnS<sub>4<\/sub>, binaarsed IV-VI \u00fchendid nagu SnS ning teised perspektiivsed pooljuhid j\u00e4rgmise p\u00f5lvkonna p\u00e4ikesepatareide absorbermaterjalideks [<em>phys. stat. sol. A 205 <\/em>(2008) 167-170]. Uurimisgrupp arendab uuritavate materjalide monoterapulbrite ning \u00f5hukeste kilede s\u00fcnteesi, keemilisi ning f\u00fc\u00fcsikalisi j\u00e4relt\u00f6\u00f6tlusi ning legeerimist erinevate lisanditega. Monoterapulbertehnoloogia on peamiseks uurimisgrupi poolt kasutatavaks absorbermaterjalide kasvatuse meetodiks. Lisaks rakendatakse erinevaid \u00f5hukeste kilede sadestamise tehnoloogiaid nagu laserablatsiooni meetod, magnetron pihustamine ja f\u00fc\u00fcsikaline aursadestus [<em>J Mater Sci: Mater Electron 24 <\/em>(2014) 4739-4744].\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tUurimisgrupp on tuntud oma unikaalse monoterakiht p\u00e4ikesepatarei disaini poolest.
