Dear geographers and friends!

 

We invite you to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Department of Geography.

The jubilee will be celebrated on the 7th of December with a conference at Vanemuine St 46 auditorium 225 and

with a party at Estonian National Museum B-side starting at 19.00 (entrance from the back side of the museum).

 

The Conference  takes place from 10.30 to 14.30. The Rector of the University of Tartu Toomas Asser will welcome us and the Honorary Doctors of Geography, professors and alumni will give presentations.

10.30–12.00 Greetings from Rector of the University of Tartu, head of Institute and head of Geography Department. Presentations from honoris causae Marc Antrop, William J. Mitsch and Frank Witlox
12.00–12.45 Coffee break
12.45–14.30 Presentations from professors and alumni and introduction of The National Atlas of Estonia and Geoinformatics textbook

 

The doors to the National Museum will open at 18.00 and the party starts at 19.00.

There will be a live band performance, traditional play by freshmen, lottery and more. It’s possible to purchase drinks and snacks from a bar.

 

The regular ticket price is 20 € and 15 € for students, PhD students and pensioners. You can pay via bank transfer

You can also pay in cash to Heli Raagmaa (room 326). In case you pay via bank transfer you will get your ticket in the evening at the Museum. Pre-sale via bank transfer ends on 4th of December at midnight. You can buy tickets with pre-sale price in cash until the end of the conference.

Ticket price at the event 25 €.
