The RNA Biology Research group

The research in RNA Biology Research group is focused on the roles of miRNAs in diseases of the immune system, such as auto-immune and allergic diseases. Combining the methods of systems biology, molecular biology, immunology, and mouse disease models, we attempt to describe novel miRNAs as biomarkers, study the molecular mechanisms regulated by those miRNAs in immune cells, affected tissue cells and in vivo mouse disease models. Driven by functional studies, we are also developing cell-penetrating peptide-based methods of the delivery of potentially therapeutic miRNAs in immune cells and inflamed tissues.
