Signe Opermann<\/strong>\u00a0is a Senior Research Communication Specialist at the University of Tartu<\/a>, Estonia. Her doctoral dissertation, defended in 2014 at the S\u00f6dert\u00f6rn University, Sweden, focused on news media repertoires across five generational groups in Estonia, born between the 1940s and the 1990s. Her forthcoming postdoctoral research project will focus on generational perceptions of \u201csocial acceleration\u201d in the context of the information society.<\/p>\n

Kristi Vinter<\/strong>\u00a0is a researcher and lecturer in the field of early childhood pedagogy. Her research interests focus on media education in early childhood institutions and young children\u2019s (up to 8 years of age) learning from different forms of media and by using digital devices. Currently she works as Director of the School of Educational Sciences<\/a> at Tallinn University, Estonia.<\/p>\n

Kristiina Kruuse<\/strong>\u00a0is a doctoral student of Media and Communication at the University of Tartu, Estonia. Her research interests involve children\u2019s media consumption, media effects on children, and consumerism. Maria Murumaa-Mengel<\/strong>\u00a0is a Lecturer of Social Media at the Institute of Social Studies<\/a>, University of Tartu, Estonia. Her doctoral thesis focuses on online audiences and her research areas of interest are inter-generational relationships in the context of new media, online privacy in the information age and the internet usage practices of the young. In addition to teaching at the university, Maria gives seminars on online risks and opportunities in secondary schools, addressing students, teachers and parents. Recently she has published an article\u00a0Drawing the Threat: A Study on Perceptions of the Online Pervert among Estonian High-School Students<\/em>\u00a0in\u00a0Young<\/em>, and a chapter titled\u00a0\u201cI Have Nothing to Hide\u201d: A Coping Strategy in a Risk Society<\/em>\u00a0in the book\u00a0Journalism, Representation and the Public Sphere<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Karmen Palts<\/strong>\u00a0is a doctoral student at the Institute of Social Studies<\/a>, University of Tartu, Estonia.\u00a0 She holds MA in Pedagogy and Psychology, and works in the field of parent and teacher counselling.\u00a0 Her research focuses mainly on teacher-parent communication, communication channels and preferences, and privacy issues in digital communication. She has published in\u00a0Trames: A Journal of the Humanities and Social Sciences<\/em>, and\u00a0International Journal of Education and Development using ICT<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Kairi Talves<\/strong>\u00a0is a doctoral student of Sociology at the Institute of Social Studies<\/a>, University of Tartu, Estonia. Her main fields of research are related to gender studies, more specifically to gendered patterns of parental behaviour and their impact on socialisation and inter-generational relationships. She has published a number of research papers in international journals and edited volumes, e.g.\u00a0Cyberpsychology: Journal of Psychosocial Research on Cyberspace\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Women\u2019s Studies International Forum.<\/em><\/p>\n

Inga Kald<\/strong>\u00a0is a Communication Specialist at the Institute of Social Studies<\/a>, University of Tartu. Her Master\u2019s thesis concerned first and second grade children\u2019s online risk experiences and coping strategies. Her Bachelor thesis \u2018Parental mediation of 5 to 7 year old children\u2019s media use: the Rahamaa (Moneyville) case\u2019 was based on a case study of positive web content for small children<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
