Funktsionaalsed testid hindavad patsiendi v\u00f5imet teostada \u00fclesannet, mis m\u00f5jutab keha tervikuna (joonis 3). S\u00f5ltuvalt patsiendi eesm\u00e4rkidest ning tema funktsionaalsest seisundist, on v\u00e4ga oluline valida efektiivne teraapiameetod ning t\u00e4psustada, millised funktsionaalsed tegurid on patsiendi jaoks olulised. N\u00e4iteks mittetraumaatiline \u00f5laliigese ebastabiilsus ujujal v\u00f5ib ilmneda liigutusel, mis teostatakse vees teatud kiiruse ning koormusega. Kuna funktsionaalne hindamine on seotud vigastuse m\u00f5juga patsiendi elule, tema tegevustele, mis p\u00f5hjustavad s\u00fcmptome v\u00f5i tegevustele, mis on s\u00fcmptomite t\u00f5ttu piiratud, siis vastavaid tegevusi tuleb patsiendip\u00f5hiselt hinnata. N\u00e4iteks hinnatakse funktsionaalselt patsiendi k\u00f5ndi, toolilt t\u00f5usmist, toolile laskumist, riietumist, s\u00f6\u00f6mist, televiisori vaatamist, raamatu lugemist, telefoni k\u00e4sitlemist, toidu valmistamise v\u00f5i toidukaupade hankimisega seotud tegevusi (tabel 7).
