FAST-Real is a three-year European project dedicated to advancing the development of photocatalytic antibacterial surfaces \u2014 innovative materials that harness light to fight harmful microbes. The project strengthens the expertise of <a href=\"https:\/\/tymri.ut.ee\/en\/content\/microbe-material-interactions-research-group\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Microbe &amp; Material Interactions Research Group)<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fi.ut.ee\/en\/sisu\/rontgenspektroskoopia-labor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(the Laboratory of X-ray Spectroscopy)<\/a>,\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/ut.ee\">University of Tartu<\/a>, Estonia through close collaboration and knowledge exchange with such leading international research institutions: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oulu.fi\/en\/research-groups\/functional-materials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the University of Oulu, Finland<\/a> \u2013 experts in catalytic materials and nanostructures, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empa.ch\/web\/s404\/dr.-qun-ren\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology<\/a> \u2013 specialists in real-life testing of antimicrobial surfaces and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bam.de\/Navigation\/EN\/About-us\/Organisation\/President\/Department-4\/department-4.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing, Germany<\/a> \u2013 experts in antimicrobial resistance. FAST-Real promotes shared learning, best practices, and joint progress toward a healthier, safer, and more sustainable future by twinning these outstanding partners.
