Participation on-site is strongly advised. Part 1 is dedicated to instrumentation and focuses on spectroscopy (basic functioning of spectrographs (long-slit, echelle, fiber\/integral field), available instrumentation and its location (ESO, HST, JWST and other major ground-based observatories)).
