Workshop on QENS and MD simulation methods<\/strong>
23 November 2026, FZJ<\/strong> J\u00fclich, Germany<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 23 November 2026, a training workshop on combining complementary QENS and MD simulation methods will take place at Forschungszentrum J\u00fclich (FZJ) as a hybrid event to access as much possible researchers from different labs. The event is being organised as part of a knowledge transfer for Tartu University, focusing on the use of neutron scattering methods for studying biomaterials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speakers will be from FZJ, ICL-Imperial College, MAX IV Lab Lunds Universitet.

Neutron Proposal Writing and Deuteration Workshop with FZJ talks on <\/strong>
Wednesday 2.9. from 14:00 \u2013 16:00 CEST (German time)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 2 September 2026 at 14:00 (CEST), an online training workshop on neutron proposal writing and deuteration will be organised to enhance the beamtime proposal writing skills of both experienced and early-career researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr J\u00fcrgen Allgaier and Dr Reiner Zorn from Forschungszentrum J\u00fclich (FZJ) will give a presentation about their Deuteration Lab and Deuteration Proposal process, as well as share their knowledge and experience of preparing competitive beamtime applications with a higher success rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop will highlight recent advances in theoretical and computational methods used to characterise the interactions in realistic materials. Several invited talks will also explore the application of modern AI and machine learning techniques for the discovery of novel photovoltaic and thermoelectric materials. Approximately half of the invited presentations will focus on experimental research, including the synthesis of new materials and the characterisation of key interaction mechanisms. Together, these contributions aim to identify the most pressing challenges in designing next-generation materials with significantly improved energy conversion efficiencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
