She lived the first 13 years of her life at R\u00f5ngu where she attended the local secondary school. After the family moved to Tartu, she continued her education at Tartu Karlova Gymnasium. In 2005, Liis Sein acquired a BA in andragogy at Tallinn University and worked in this area for years, being head of training at the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences and Viljandi Culture Academy of the University of Tartu. From 2017, Liis Sein has worked as director\u2019s assistant at the Estonian Children\u2019s Literature Centre.<\/span><\/span><\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;\">Liis Sein has been a member of the Estonian Writers\u2019 Union from 2022.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;\">Sein wrote her first pieces during studies at Drakadeemia creative writing school in 2008. Since then, she has written several theatrical texts for adults, which have received honourable mention at the playwriting competitions of the Estonian Theatre Agency.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;\">Most of all, Sein has written children\u2019s books. The books meant for young readers are humorous and in simple language understandable for children. He has also written biographies for children about <a href=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/ewod\/m\/meri\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"408\">Lennart Meri<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/ewod\/t\/tungal\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1060\">Leelo Tungal<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;\">Sein\u2019s books have been translated into Lithuanian and Russian.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sein\u2019s books have won the Good Children\u2019s Book Award four times (<em>Saskia otsib v\u00e4rve<\/em> \u2013 \u2018Saskia is Looking for Colors\u2019 \u2013 2019; <em>Kartlik rebasepoeg<\/em> \u2013 \u2018The Fearful Fox Boy\u2019 \u2013 2021; <em>Mona isep\u00e4ine isa<\/em> \u2013 \u2018Mona\u2019s Stubborn Father\u2019 \u2013 2022 and <em>Lennart Meri. President<\/em>, 2025); <em>Mona isep\u00e4ine isa<\/em> was also selected for the White Ravens catalog of the Internationale Jugendbibliothek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;\">L.
