He graduated from Stockholm University in 1967 with a master\u2019s degree in economics and later upgraded his education with studies in political science and philology. From 1969\u20131972, he worked in Malm\u00f6 as an editor of Radio Sweden and later as a freelance journalist for periodicals in Estonian and other languages and as a television commentator of international events. K\u00fcng participated in the activities of exile Estonians\u2019 organisations. He lived in Malm\u00f6. He was a member of the Estonian Writers\u2019 Union from 1992.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\">Andres K\u00fcng was a dedicated fighter for the independence of the Baltic states. Before Estonia regained its independence, he was one of the most active emigre Estonian literators who informed the international public about Estonian history and circumstances in Estonia within the Soviet Union. K\u00fcng has published numerous articles and more than fifty books on the political situation in Estonia and elsewhere in the world in Estonian, Swedish, English, German, Finnish, Norwegian, Latvian and other languages. He often presented lectures on these themes. K\u00fcng participated actively in the Swedish Liberal People\u2019s Party, being from 1982\u20131991 a member of its board. In 1993, K\u00fcng founded the first private television station in Estonia, EVTV. In addition to topical political themes, K\u00fcng dealt in his essays and articles with the activities of Swedish Christian missionaries in Southern Europe and with the history of Swedish settlement in the territory of Estonia.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\">In November 1998, year Andres K\u00fcng was awarded the highest state decoration of Latvia \u2013 the Order of the Three Stars.
