She completed Viljandi County Gymnasium in 1997. Kree has studied at Tartu Art School and Estonian and Finno-Ugric philology at the University of Tartu. She has worked in the culture department of the Viljandi newspaper <em>Sakala<\/em> and been a freelance artist and writer. She has been a member of the Estonian Writers\u2019 Union since 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anu Kree\u2019s first poetry collections <em>P\u00f5hjavalgeni<\/em> (\u2018To the Northern Light\u2019) and <em>Kes me, \u00f5ied, kukume<\/em> (\u2018Who Are We Flowers That Fall\u2019) were published in 1997 and 1998. The author designed, illustrated and published them herself. She is a member of the writers\u2019 grouping Erakkond and participated as a co-author in Erakkond\u2019s joint collection <em>Harakkiri<\/em> (1999).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Early in 2023, after a long pause in publishing, she issued a collection of new poems <em>Vee pealt lendu<\/em> (\u2018Into Flight from Water\u2019). In August 2023, Kree published the poetry collection <em>Kirjat\u00e4he kaitse all<\/em> (\u2018Under the Protection of the Letter\u2019). It was followed by the new collections <em>Palanguk\u00f5nd<\/em> (\u2018Walking on Fire\u2019, 2024), <em>Valge metsa n\u00e4rv<\/em> (\u2018Nerve of the White Forest\u2019, 2024), <em>Suidpidi<\/em> [\u2018By the Mouths\u2019, 2025] and <em>Iga armastus loeb<\/em> [\u2018Every Love Counts\u2019, 2025]. Late in 2024, she published her first prose collection of miniatures <em>Elu nagides<\/em> (\u2018Life on the Coathooks\u2019). In 2025 she published a semi-autobiographical fragmentary novel <em>Sees sumisev s\u00fcda<\/em> [\u2018The Heart Buzzing Inside\u2019].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kree is a poet with a distinct poetic language and imagery. Her poems are characterised by the presence of the feeling of love and readiness for new questions following each experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her poetry has been published by the journal <em>Looming<\/em>. Later, she has also written prose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>L. P. (Translated by I.
