IV 1985) is an artist and prose writer.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:0.11in\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\"><span style=\"line-height:108%\">L\u00f5hmus was born in Tartu and graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Tartu in 2007 with a Bachelor\u2019s degree, specialising in painting. In 2011 she completed her Master\u2019s degree in the same field at the Estonian Academy of Art. L\u00f5hmus has been an exchange student at the University of East London in England. Her master\u2019s project at the Estonian Academy of Art was a video series called \u201cThe Love Room\u201d. L\u00f5hmus\u2019 subsequent career has been largely confined to video and photography, occasionally straying into the fields of installations and literature. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:0.11in\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\"><span style=\"line-height:108%\">Margit L\u00f5hmus\u2019 short stories have been published in the journals <i>Vikerkaar <\/i>and <i>V\u00e4rske R\u00f5hk. <\/i>In Spring 2019 her first book, <i>Sterne, <\/i>appeared, consisting mostly of previously published stories from 2002 to 2018. L\u00f5hmus\u2019 stories tell of loneliness and solitude, vulnerability, rebellion against the norms instilled in humanity, inability to find one\u2019s own self, one\u2019s own way, one\u2019s own place, and companions.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:0.11in\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\"><span style=\"line-height:108%\">The book <i>Sterne <\/i>contains plenty of descriptions of urban bohemian life. In the description of female sexuality the author is very open. The text often skirts the boundaries of good taste. The critic Hasso Krull has called this work the most surprising and persuasive erotic madness. The author has called her own style magic realism.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:0.11in\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><em><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\"><span style=\"line-height:108%\">L.
