Eet Tuule (born 31 July 1941) is a prose writer.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuule was born in Saaremaa Island. From 1953, he has lived in mainland Estonia. Eet Tuule has two main interests: ornithology and literature. As he had collected thorough bird-counting data as a schoolboy, Eerik Kumari, Professor of Ornithology at the University of Tartu, recommended him to continue his studies at the university, but, for family reasons, the young man could not enter the university. For years, he worked as a locksmith and mechanic. His spare time was filled with ornithology.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For decades, Eet Tuule has published his bird-watching results as popular-scientific articles in the journals Eesti Loodus<\/em> and\u00a0Estonian Journal of Ecology. In 2003, Eet Tuule was elected honorary member of the Estonian Ornithological Society.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 2014, Eet Tuule has been a freelance writer. He has published more than 20 books, among which there are nature stories for children but also crime novels and novels with autobiographical elements. In 2014, Tuule published the collection of nature stories Trompetid udus<\/em> (\u2018Trumpets in Fog\u2019) and, in 2015, the children\u2019s book Tagalaane valitsejad<\/em> (\u2018Lords of the Deep Forest\u2019). Poisike rukkis<\/em> (\u2018Little Boy in the Rye\u2019), published in 2015, is a novel with autobiographical motifs which includes detailed descriptions of landscapes of the Laimjala region in Saaremaa Island.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the early 2020s, Eet Tuule was one of the most popular authors among the users of libraries.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
