XII 1975) is a literary researcher and poet.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"line-height: 150%;\">T\u00fc\u00fcr was born on the island of Muhu, which has remained an important focus of her research and poems. She studied in Kuressaare and Estonian literature at the University of Tartu, continuing her master\u2019s studies at the University of Turku in literary studies and in the University of Tartu in semiotics and cultural studies. Her PhD thesis was \u201cSemiotics of Nature Representations: on the Example of Nature Writing\u201d (2017). T\u00fc\u00fcr has worked at the Karl Ristikivi museum, Under and Tuglas Literature Center, Estonian Literary Museum, and the Universities of Tartu and Tallinn. She has been the director of Muhu museum. Since 2024, she has been a lecturer in Estonian language and culture at the University of Toronto.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"line-height: 150%;\">She is a member of the European Association for the Study of Literature, Culture, and Environment (EASLCE); Estonian Literary Society; Estonian Semiotics Association; Estonian Naturalists Society, and Muhu Heritage School. As a poet, she is a member of the literary group Erakkond that was founded in the 1990s.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"line-height: 150%;\">T\u00fc\u00fcr\u2019s main fields of study are environmental history, nature writing and ecocriticism, ecofeminism, and heritage culture. She has headed KAJAK (Center of Environmental History at the University of Tallinn). She has studied the aspects of place and location in literature. In greater detail, she has researched for example Karl Ristikivi and A. H.
