She has worked as a translator, language teacher and journalist. Has been a member of the Tartu Young Authors\u2019 Association and, from 1996, of the Estonian Writers\u2019 Union.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\">Aime Hansen has published poetry in the press from the early 1980s; her first collection <em>Koduaja tuul<\/em> (\u2018Hometime Wind\u2019) appeared in 1982. It was followed by <em>Kalade kuninga maa<\/em> (\u2018Land of the King of Fishes\u2019, 1988), <em>Teekond madude saarele<\/em> (\u2018Voyage to the Island of Snakes\u2019, 1990) and <em>Ma olin mereingel<\/em> (\u2018I Was a Sea Angel\u2019, 2011). Her originally idiosyncratic poetry is characterised by certain eclecticism; a significant basis for it lies in the myths and legends of different cultures, mysticism, dreams and religion.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\">She has received essential creative impulses from travelling and contacts with different cultures and religions, which have provided the subject matter, for example, for the short prose collection <em>Jaipur-Delhi-Himaalaja: reisikohvrist leitud lood<\/em> (\u2018Jaipur-Delhi-Himalaya: Stories Found in a Suitcase\u2019, 2009, travel book award of the Go Travel travel agency). <em>Eestlasena Londonis: k\u00fcbar jalas, saabas peas<\/em> (\u2018Estonian in London: Hat on Foot, Boot on Head\u2019, 2011) and <em>Uus-Meremaa s\u00f5nas ja pildis<\/em> (\u2018New Zealand in Words and Pictures\u2019, 2011) can also be considered travel books. Through the author\u2019s subjective glance, they offer an insight into the countries\u2019 culture and everyday life.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\"><em>A.
