II 1986) is an American translator and poet residing in Estonia.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;\">He studied Russian language and literature in the USA and St Petersburg (Russia) and the Estonian language independently. Since 2012, he has translated Estonian literature into English. He has translated the works of Indrek Hargla, Mihkel Mutt, Rein Raud, Emil Tode, Kai Aareleid, Doris Kareva, Jan Kaus, Elo Viiding, J\u00fcrgen Rooste, Maarja Kangro and many others. Cullen has been a member of the Estonian Writers\u2019 Union since 2014.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;\">In 2007, his Estonian and English poetry collection Lichen\/Samblik was published. His second poetry collection <em>V\u00e4ikses linnas<\/em> (\u2018In a Small Town\u2019, 2018) features Estonian haikus and is dedicated to the city of Haapsalu. In the 2020 poetry collection <em>Kolm s\u00f5lme<\/em> (\u2018Three Knots\u2019) he is one of the three authors featured along with Veronika Kivisilla and \u00d8yvind Rang\u00f8y.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif;\">L.
