\n\tKristina Viin (born 22 XI 1985) <\/b>is an artist, illustrator and poet. <\/font><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tViin was born in V\u00f5ru. She completed V\u00f5ru Kreutzwald Gymnasium in 2004 and entered Tartu Art College in the same year. She graduated from the Art College in 2010 specialising in sculpture. From 2015\u20132020, she studied theology at the University of Tartu. She is a member of the Estonian Writers\u2019 Union (from 2020) and the Estonian Academic Oriental Society. <\/font><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tShe has published the poetry collections N\u00f5tkel elevandisammul<\/i> (\u2018At the Graceful Pace of an Elephant\u2019, 2014) and Isep\u00fc\u00fcdleja <\/i>(\u2018Self-striver\u2019, 2018). Viin\u2019s poems have been published in the journals Looming<\/i>, Vikerkaar<\/i>, V\u00e4rske R\u00f5hk<\/i>, in the newspaper M\u00fc\u00fcrileht<\/i> and in collections. She has written art reviews and articles.<\/font><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tViin\u2019s debut book N\u00f5tkel elevandisammul<\/i> was illustrated by the author. The texts of the poetry collection are full of South-Estonian landscapes; the poems are expressive and visionary. Among other matters, they deal with the hardships and joys of being a woman and mother. The characteristic keywords of the second poetry collection, Isep\u00fc\u00fcdleja<\/i>, are the university, books, art, Tartu, social peculiarities of the present age. <\/font><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tViin is a member of Delegatsioon K<\/i>, a grouping of women artists related to Tartu. She has illustrated poetry collections, children\u2019s books and other editions; her artwork has been displayed at exhibitions in Estonia and Finland. <\/font><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
