X 1961) is a writer and journalist.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\">Soans was born in Tallinn. Her parents are the artist Olev Soans and poet Helvi J\u00fcrisson, her half-brother is Peeter Volkonski. She graduated from the 1st Secondary School in Keila in 1979. Soans studied to be an art teacher in Tallinn Pedagogical Institute. In 1992, after studying remotely at the University of Tartu, she graduated as a journalist. Soans has worked in Estonian Radio and publishing. From 1999, she is a freelance writer. She is a member of the Estonian Writers\u2019 Union.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\">Soans has written about ten children\u2019s books. The first of them, <em>Olivia ja esimene maailm<\/em> (\u2018Olivia and the First World\u2019) was published in 2003 and was also translated to Russian in 2005. Two of her children\u2019s books are published together with Tia Navi\u2019s (Tiia K\u00f5nnussaare) children\u2019s stories in the same volume.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\">In 2008, Soans\u2019s novella for adult readers, <em>Kui ma armastasin tislerit<\/em> (\u2018When I Loved a Carpenter\u2019), was published. For the book, the author cooperated with graphic artist Kadi Kurema, whose pictures inspired her to write.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\">She co-wrote the anthroposophical parenting book <em>Indigolapsed: kas uus p\u00f5lvkond?<\/em> (\u2018Indigo Children: The New Generation?\u2019) with Armen T\u00f5ugu. The book has been translated to Lithuanian, Russian and Hebrew.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\">Her collection <em>R\u00e4\u00e4kiv plekk-kruus ja teisi raadiojutte<\/em> (\u2018The Talking Tin Cup and Other Radio Stories\u2019) was published in 2006 for the 80th anniversary of Estonian Radio.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em><span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:13px\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif\">L.
