Elas pikki aastaid Taanis ja mujal Skandinaavias, nende aastate muljed ja kogemused on leidnud kajastamist mitmes teoses. 2000. aastate alguses naasis Eestisse ja asus j\u00e4rjekindlamalt tegelema kirjutamisega. Eesti Kirjanike Liidu liige 2013. aastast, eesti kodanik 2018. aastast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ivanov on leidnud mitmek\u00fclgset tunnustamist nii Eestis kui Venemaal: n\u00e4iteks Ivanovi tuntuim ja enimt\u00f5lgitud romaan \u201eHanumani teekond Lollandile\u201c (\u041f\u0443\u0442\u0435\u0448\u0435\u0441\u0442\u0432\u0438\u0435 \u0425\u0430\u043d\u0443\u043c\u0430\u043d\u0430 \u043d\u0430 \u041b\u043e\u043b\u043b\u0430\u043d\u0434 (2009, eesti keeles 2012) j\u00f5udis Vene Bookeri finalistide hulka 2010. aastal ning \u201eHarbini \u00f6\u00f6liblikad\u201c (\u0425\u0430\u0440\u0431\u0438\u043d\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0435 \u043c\u043e\u0442\u044b\u043b\u044c\u043a\u0438 2014, eesti keeles 2013) 2013. aastal. Viimane on p\u00e4lvinud ka Vene kirjandusauhinna NOS 2014. aastal. Ivanov on p\u00e4lvinud kuuel korral Kultuurkapitali kirjanduse sihtkapitali aastapreemia vene autori kategoorias \u2013 2009. aastal romaani \u201cHanumani teekond Lollandile\u201d eest, 2011. aastal novellikogu \u201cKopenhaagen\u201d (\u041a\u043e\u043f\u0435\u043d\u0433\u0430\u0433\u0430) eest, 2013. aastal \u201cHarbini \u00f6\u00f6liblikate\u201d eest, 2015. aastal romaani \u201cKuut\u00f5bise pihtimus\u201d (\u0418\u0441\u043f\u043e\u0432\u0435\u0434\u044c \u043b\u0443\u043d\u0430\u0442\u0438\u043a\u0430, eesti keeles 2015) eest, 2019. aastal romaani \u201cIsev\u00e4rki kalmistu asukate\u201d (\u041e\u0431\u0438\u0442\u0430\u0442\u0435\u043b\u0438 \u043f\u043e\u0442\u0435\u0448\u043d\u043e\u0433\u043e \u043a\u043b\u0430\u0434\u0431\u0438\u0449\u0430, eesti keeles 2019) eest ja 2023. aastal romaani \u201cHella t\u00e4he all\u201d (\u041f\u043e\u0434 \u043b\u0430\u0441\u043a\u043e\u0432\u043e\u0439 \u0437\u0432\u0435\u0437\u0434\u043e\u0439) eest. 2015. aastast p\u00e4rineb Tallinna teenetem\u00e4rk v\u00e4ljapaistva panuse eest Tallinna kultuuriellu. Kolmel aastal (2011, 2018 ja 2020) on ta p\u00e4lvinud Tallinna \u00fclikooli kirjanduspreemia. 2016. aastal sai Ivanov silmapaistva kultuuritegevuse eest 2015. aastal riikliku kultuuripreemia. Romaani \u201ePeot\u00e4is p\u00f5rmu\u201c (\u0413\u043e\u0440\u0441\u0442\u044c \u043f\u0440\u0430\u0445\u0430 esmatr\u00fckk 2011 eesti keeles; vene keeles 2014) v\u00e4ljaj\u00e4\u00e4mine Eesti Kultuurkapitali kirjandusauhinna nominentide seast p\u00f5hjustas elava arutelu eesti kirjanduse m\u00e4\u00e4ratlemise ning eestivene kirjanduse \u00fcle. Suuresti t\u00e4nu Ivanovi teostele on Eestis teadvustunud eestivene kirjanduse olemasolu ning see on p\u00e4lvinud elavat vastukaja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kuigi Ivanovi ja tema teoste puhul leiab enamasti k\u00e4sitlemist eestivene aspekt, ei keskendu ta oma proosas spetsiifiliselt eestivene temaatikale, vaid kujutab kaasaegset maailma oma v\u00f5\u00f5randumises, eksistentsiaalses \u00fcksinduses ja kohatises nihestatuses. V\u00f5\u00f5randumine, v\u00f5\u00f5ras olemine, aga ka kannatamine ja kannatused on \u00fched tema proosa kesksed teemad. Tema tegelaste puhul on kasutatud m\u00e4\u00e4ratlust \u201ca man between\u201d ning eksistentsiaalne autsaider. Eestivene temaatika v\u00f5ib seejuures olla t\u00f5husaks abivahendiks (vt nt romaan \u201ePeot\u00e4is p\u00f5rmu\u201c, jutustused \u201eMinu Taani onuke\u201c (\u041c\u043e\u0439 \u0434\u0430\u0442\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u0434\u044f\u0434\u044e\u0448\u043a\u0430) ja \u201eTuhk\u201c (\u0417\u043e\u043b\u0430)). Ivanovi teosed v\u00f5imaldavad t\u00f5mmata autobiograafilisi paralleele autoriga: tema teoste peategelane on sageli Eestis s\u00fcndinud (kodakondsuseta) venelane, kes murrangulistel 1990. aastatel Eestist lahkub, seikleb m\u00f5nda aega Skandinaavias ning naaseb siis kodumaale. Nii moodustavad Skandinaavia triloogia romaanid \u201eHanumani teekond Lollandile\u201c, \u201eBizarre\u201c (\u0411\u0438\u0437\u0430\u0440 2014, eesti keeles 2014) ja \u201eKuut\u00f5bise pihtimus\u201c (\u0418\u0441\u043f\u043e\u0432\u0435\u0434\u044c \u043b\u0443\u043d\u0430\u0442\u0438\u043a\u0430, 2014, eesti keeles 2015). Triloogiale eelnenut k\u00e4sitleb romaan \u201eBat\u00fcskaaf\u201c (\u0411\u0430\u0442\u0438\u0441\u043a\u0430\u0444, eesti keeles 2017). Erinevat t\u00fc\u00fcpi p\u00f5genike temaatika leiab ka teostest \u201eHarbini \u00f6\u00f6liblikad\u201c, mis k\u00e4sitleb Venemaalt Eestisse p\u00f5genenute k\u00e4ek\u00e4iku ja tegemisi 1920.-1930. aastatel ning \u201eIsev\u00e4rki kalmistu asukad\u201c (\u041e\u0431\u0438\u0442\u0430\u0442\u0435\u043b\u0438 \u043f\u043e\u0442\u0435\u0448\u043d\u043e\u0433\u043e \u043a\u043b\u0430\u0434\u0431\u0438\u0449\u0430 2018, eesti keeles 2019), mille keskmes vene emigrandid 20. sajandi Prantsusmaal.
