Karin Rannaäär (magistrant)

EST: Karin Rannaäär on Tartu ülikooli magistrant. Bakalaureusetöö kirjutas ta teemal „Saaremaa naiste rõivastus 12.-14. sajandil haualeidude põhjal“ ja magistrantuuris jätkab ta Saaremaa kalmematerjali uurimisega, täpsema vaatluse alla on ta võtnud Viltina hilisrauaaegse kivikalme. Õppimise kõrvalt tegeleb Karin Tartu Ülikooli arheoloogialaboris konserveerimisega. Samuti on ta töötanud projektis “Rõivastus ja enesemääratlus Eesti alal 11.-16. sajandil” Kevadine ja suvine aeg mööduvad enamasti leiretel ja väljakaevamistel. Lisaks haldab ta projekti sotsiaalmeedia lehekülgi.

ENG: Karin Rannaäär is a master’s student at the University of Tartu. After her bachelor’s thesis – “Saaremaa women’s clothing in the 12th to 14th century based on grave finds” – she continues to study Saaremaa grave goods in the master’s programme, focusing specifically on the Late Iron Age cemetery of Viltina. In addition to her studies Karin works as a conservator at the Archaeology Laboratory of the University of Tartu. She has also worked on the project “Clothing and self-identity in the 11th–16th centuries in Estonian territory” Karin spends most of her spring and summertime participating in archaeological prospecting and excavations. She also manages the social media sites for the project.
