Eelkambriumist on teada hulgaliselt pehmekehalisi organisme, kuid skeletiga organismid ilmusid alles Kambriumis arvukate eri taksonitena. Igal juhul oli see oluliseks s\u00fcndmuseks elu arengus. Esimesed skeletiga organismid olid k\u00f5ik v\u00e4ikesed ja neid on seet\u00f5ttu nimetatudki v\u00e4ikesteks kestaga kivististeks (small shelly fossils \u2013 SSF).\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<b>Ihnofossiilid<\/b>\u00a0ehk ka elu j\u00e4ljed on teada juba Eelkambriumist. Kambriumi alul suurenes elu j\u00e4lgede osat\u00e4htsus tohutult, sest suurenes nii nende hulk kui ka leviku ulatus (skeem 2).
