See pakub olulisi sisendeid meditsiinile, eriti inimese immuunhaiguste uurimisel, ning interdistsiplinaarseid vaatenurki lingvistikas ja kultuuriuuringutes OCSEANi (Oceanic and Southeast Asian Navigators) projekti raames. P\u00e4rast pausi j\u00e4tkame praktilise t\u00f6\u00f6toaga, mis annab \u00fclevaate LAI\u2011ga t\u00f6\u00f6tamisest, keskendudes hiljuti v\u00e4lja t\u00f6\u00f6tatud skaleeritavatele algoritmidele, mis v\u00f5imaldavad tuvastada peenstruktuuriga populatsioonimustreid erinevates kasutusjuhtudes \u2014 alates biopankade suurusega t\u00e4nap\u00e4evastest andmestikest kuni muistse DNA\u2011ni. Osalejad v\u00f5ivad soovi korral osaleda ainult esimeses sessioonis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Avasesioonis uurime, kuidas LAI on olnud v\u00f5tmet\u00e4htsusega hulgiskleroosi ja teiste immuunsusega seotud haiguste p\u00e4ritolu tuvastamisel, \u00fchendades t\u00f5endeid nii muistse kui ka t\u00e4nap\u00e4evase DNA p\u00f5hjal. See v\u00f5imaldab eraldada konkreetseid geene ning jutustab loo v\u00e4ga hiljutisest \u2014 ja v\u00f5ib\u2011olla siiani kestvast \u2014 looduslikust valikust inimeste seas. V\u00f5rdleme ka kohaliku p\u00e4ritolu suhteid keelesuhetega ning arutame, millist t\u00fc\u00fcpi andmeid oleks vaja konkreetsete h\u00fcpoteeside testimiseks geenide, keelte ja kultuuri koosarengu kohta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Hoolimata LAI selgetest eelistest on selle t\u00e4pne ja t\u00f5hus rakendamine j\u00e4\u00e4nud keerukaks. Teises osas arutame, kuidas kasutada k\u00f5ige uuemaid LAI tarkvarapakette, millest iga\u00fchel on oma erip\u00e4rad ja mis v\u00f5imaldavad t\u00f6\u00f6delda suuri biopanga\u2011m\u00f5\u00f5tmelisi andmestikke. Uued meetodid suudavad anal\u00fc\u00fcsida sadade tuhandete kuni miljonite isikute andmeid \u2014 mahud, mis on iseloomulikud k\u00f5ige n\u00f5udlikumatele kaasaegsetele biopankadele ja assotsiatsiooniuuringutele. Seevastu populatsiooniajaloo uurijad v\u00f5ivad t\u00f6\u00f6tada vaid sadade isikutega ning keskenduda t\u00f6\u00f6riistadele, mis s\u00e4ilitavad hoolikalt geneetilisi seoseid. His work focuses on developing scalable statistical and machine\u2011learning methodology, with applications spanning genetics, cultural evolution, cybersecurity, epidemiology, and social science. His research includes major contributions to genetic ancestry estimation, fine\u2011scale population structure analysis, spectral methods, Bayesian modelling, and large\u2011scale data science methodology.
