Abstract

Many PhD-students think it would be necessary or helpful to give an historical overview over the subject of the own research or the background of a specific problem. Mostly it is better to avoid this chapter of the book. What kind of introduction is really useful depends on the own and very individual research question. In a mixture of lecture and seminary we will discuss in which cases which kind of introduction can be useful. A young researcher who has a specific idea of his/her subject and approach will know very soon, which contents should be a part of the thesis and which not.

The lecture will be conducted by Prof. Peter Oestmann, University of Münster: https://www.jura.uni-muenster.de/de/apps/personenliste/prof-dr-peter-oes...
