PhD Poster session is organized within the 14th Annual Conference of the Estonian Economic Association (EMS) on 31 January 2019 in Pühajärve.

Poster session aims to give PhD students the opportunity to present their research ideas or results to conference participants from different organizations. Besides the academic staff from universities there will be people from the banks, state institutions and private organizations.

For a poster submission, please send the title of your poster by 5 January 2019 to katrin.tamm@ut.ee.

The electronic versions of the posters should reach katrin.tamm@ut.ee by 15 January 2019.  Guidelines for compiling posters.

Students who are members of the Doctoral School in Economics and Innovation and have an active enrollment status, will get the printing cost of their posters covered by the doctoral school. Doctoral school will help with printing out the posters before the conference. To cover the conference fee, PhD students are recommended to request for financial assistance from their schools.


The Annual Conference of the Estonian Economic Association will take place on 31 January - 1 February 2019 at Pühajärve SPA & Holiday Resort. The theme of the upcoming conference is Controversies of Economic Theory and Policy.

The keynote of the conference will be delivered by Prof. Gilles Saint-Paul. Gilles Saint-Paul is a professor at the Paris School of Economics (Paris Sciences Lettres) and holds a visiting position at New York University in Abu Dhabi. He has a Ph.D. in economics from MIT and has previously held positions at DELTA, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Birkbeck College and the Toulouse School of Economics. He has been a member of the French Council of Economic Advisors and of the Munich-based EEAG group. His work is on macroeconomic theory, in particular growth, labour market issues, and political economy. His publications include The Political Economy of Labour Market Institutions (Oxford University Press, 2000) and The Tyranny of Utility (Princeton University Press, 2011) as well as numerous publications in international journals. In 2007 he was awarded the Yrjo Jahnsson medal, which is given every two years to the best European economist under 45.
