Course for PhD students (4 academic hours)

This scientific poster design course by Maarja Pajusalu will give an overview of design principles and elements. The principles are illustrated by examples and applied practically using an online design environment canva.com. These guidelines are at the same time applicable for all types of graphic design works and within other applications like MS PowerPoint or Adobe Illustrator.

When prepared with information and materials (text, illustrations, graphs etc) you could work on your design while listening to the instructor or you can also play around in canva just to discover. 

Canva.com can be accessed online via your email, google or Facebook account - please do sign in at least once before the course if you plan to use or try Canva.

About the lecturer

Maarja Pajusalu is a lecturer and consultant in the fields of design and IT. Holding an MSc in User Experience and Interaction Design from Tallinn University, she currently studies as a PhD student at Tartu University Institute of Computer Science. She has more than 15 years of experience in the field from both the public and private sectors. According to the feedback, Maarja is professional, calm, thorough, and approaches participants personally.
