  • Follow-up Course in R

    The aim of the course is to introduce time-series and panel data modeling in R software. The course is a continuity course to Indrek Seppos’ R course that was held in Tallinn University of Technology at the beginning of 2018. Therefore the course assumes (at least moderate) prior experience with R software and knowledge of econometrics as the aim of the course is more technical in terms of setting up the models in R.

  • Doctoral seminar Common Problems of Medical Law and Criminal Law

    The first international conference on medical law took place in Tartu in 1996. Already back then topics like doctors’ liability, euthanasia, informed consent etc. were discussed. This time these old topics are approached from a new angle and there are also several new topics. We are conducting the seminar in cooperation with the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg in Germany, where medical law is coordinated by Professor Henning Rosenau. The seminar will be mainly in English and will definitely be interesting for lawyers as well as medical students.

  • Writing Retreat 5

    Writing Retreat will create space and time for PhD students to focus on your own academic writing and thus make significant progress on your research goals.  Five days with over 36 hours of writing, short workshops, activities to help clear your mind, as well as the opportunity to discuss with others and with a facilitating consultant. The format is inclusive and collective. It will be facilitated and supported, with the focus being on writing together to increase motivation and writing productivity.

  • Smart Goods – Challenges for Consumer and Data Protection

    During the international seminar "Smart Goods – Challenges for Consumer and Data Protection" participants will discuss topical issues related to smart goods, e.g. new challenges that connected cars or smartphones present for our privacy and for us as consumers. The seminar is mostly dedicated to legal issues but has also interdisciplinary approach involving computer and social scientists as well as digital economy practitioners. In addition to renowned international legal scholars there is also a panel for doctoral students.
