The University of Tartu is an indispensable part of Estonia\u2019s cultural heritage. The university\u2019s history is also largely the history of Estonia and Estonians, as well as of all the other people who have lived and do live here. This makes it hard to overestimate the importance of the University of Tartu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The university\u2019s image combines its imposing history with a youthful view of the future. An essential part of the university\u2019s image is its visual identity, which is dignified, yet leaves room for creativity where appropriate.

The face of the university is up to its people to develop. The style guide aims to establish a common direction and system to use as a basis for maintaining and developing the university\u2019s visual identity. The style requirements stem from the aims of the university in general and the aims of each unit individually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The style guide sets out the principles for when only the shared core visual identity must be used and when units may, where necessary, differentiate themselves visually to convey their message appropriately to the target audience.<\/p>\n\n\n
