The overarching goal of the project is to enhance our understanding of the changes in the spatial structures of inequality in digitally transforming societies by focusing on changes in residential segregation. Research on residential segregation has reached a turning point. It needs new perspectives and approaches since an important share of activities has shifted to the digital space, which in turn brings along changes in the physical space. The residential preferences of high-skilled professionals are critical in shaping patterns of residential segregation, but how these preferences change during digital transition is unclear. The proposed project will address this research gap through the study of the Estonian capital city, Tallinn. Estonia is well known for its cutting-edge digital solutions for businesses and the public sector. We will apply a comprehensive mixed method research design that will draw on qualitative interviews and harmonised microdata from censuses and registers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PREFIGURE consortium is set to study pathways to inclusive, affordable, and sustainable housing within a Horizon 2020 project. <\/strong>Our team contributes to the consortium by seeking prototypes of change\u2014good examples of housing renovation\u2014based on cases from Tallinn and Tartu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
