The school is organised by the cGEM group at the Institute of Genomics, University of Tartu, Estonia within the frames of H2020 grant no 810645\u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cgem.ut.ee\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.cgem.ut.ee<\/a>).\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Programme\u00a0<\/strong><br>The course is focussed on methods and resources for identifying the present-day consequences of past natural selection for phenotypic variation and susceptibility to disease, and will cover advanced methods for inferring evolutionary histories from genomics data and linking them to large-scale genomic and functional datasets. Lectures introducing theoretical concepts and methods will be combined with workshops designed to give hands-on experience.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Teachers\u00a0<\/strong><br><strong>Anders Eriksson<\/strong>: Evolutionary of complex traits\u00a0<br><strong>Helle Sadam<\/strong>: Theory and applications of immunoprofiling \u00a0<br><strong>Vasili Pankratov<\/strong>: Tree-based based methods of evolutionary inference\u00a0<br><strong>Michael Dannemann<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Danat Yermakovich<\/strong>: Introgression from archaic humans\u00a0<br><strong>Mayukh Mondal<\/strong>: Deep learning methods for evolutionary inference\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#ffa07a\"><span style=\"font-size:18px\">The school will be held online December 4 \u2013 8 and will be\u00a0<u><strong>free of charge<\/strong><\/u><strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Application\u00a0<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe course is aimed at PhD students of mathematics and bioinformatics with an interest in evolution. We also welcome students from biological and medical backgrounds with sufficient background in computational analysis, advanced undergraduates, and postdocs.\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tApplications are to be sent by email to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:merit.kreitsberg@ut.ee\">merit.kreitsberg@ut.ee<\/a>.
