{"id":10,"date":"2019-02-25T20:51:27","date_gmt":"2024-04-04T01:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/cgem\/project-website-created\/"},"modified":"2024-04-04T04:48:08","modified_gmt":"2024-04-04T01:48:08","slug":"project-website-created","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/cgem\/project-website-created\/","title":{"rendered":"cGEM project launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tOn 1<sup>st<\/sup> of Septeber 2018 Institute of Genomics of Univerity of Tartu together with Institute of Clinical Medicine of University of Tartu\u00a0launced a H2020 funded ERA Chair project\u00a0 \u2013<strong> cGEM \u2013\u00a0the Centre\u00a0for Genomics, Evolution and Medicine<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe project will last 60 months and will be funded with 2,5M \u20ac.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe ERA Chair aims to apply advancements in genomic medicine in an evolutionarily-aware framework to account for different evolutionary pathways of populations which have led to differences in susceptibility to common diseases. The grant brings together the scientific expertise in three institutions: the Estonian Biocentre (EBC) and the Estonian Genome Center (EGC) which were consolidated to form the Institute of Genomics at University of Tartu from January 2018, and the Institute of Clinical Medicine (ICM of University of Tartu).
