{"id":59,"date":"2024-04-04T04:36:13","date_gmt":"2024-04-04T01:36:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/andmehaldus\/repository-registers\/"},"modified":"2024-04-04T04:37:01","modified_gmt":"2024-04-04T01:37:01","slug":"repository-registers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/andmehaldus\/repository-registers\/?lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Repository Registers"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>\n\t<strong>Re3data<\/strong><br>\n<\/h3>\n<p>\n\tThe register of repositories\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.re3data.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">re3data<\/a><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>includes more than 2800\u00a0repositories; the portal has 41 index entries for specifying the search.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tUsing of Re3data.org is recommended in the EC guide <em><a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/research\/participants\/data\/ref\/h2020\/grants_manual\/hi\/oa_pilot\/h2020-hi-oa-pilot-guide_en.pdf\">Guidelines on Open Access to Scientific Publications and Research Data in Horizon 2020<\/a><\/em>.\n<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\n\t\tYou need to remember that this is a <b>register of repositories<\/b>, meaning that you should first search by broader subject areas and then move to a narrower range to find the repositories that you may be interested in. <b>Search for specific subjects and data sets is conducted within the repositories that you are interested in<\/b>.\n\t<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\n\tThe register has an easily understandable <b>system of icons<\/b> which indicate:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\twhether the repository is an open or a closed repository\u00a0\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\twhether it has licenses\u00a0\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\twhich persistent identifiers are used (DOI, hdl, purl or\u00a0others)\u00a0\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\thas the repository been certified, etc\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-file_info=\"%7B%22fid%22:%2235175%22,%22view_mode%22:%22default%22,%22type%22:%22media%22%7D\" height=\"160\" src=\"https:\/\/sisu.ut.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/301\/ikoonid.png\" title=\"\" width=\"489\">\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tExamples:\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIf you search for <strong>open data in materials science<\/strong>, you start with the search term\u00a0<i>materials science<\/i>. The search gives 80 results (20.01.2020); you can get a quick overview of the results based on the descriptions of repositories. The Wikipedia page\u00a0<a data-url=\"http:\/\/oad.simmons.edu\/oadwiki\/Data_repositories\" href=\"http:\/\/oad.simmons.edu\/oadwiki\/Data_repositories\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Data repositories<\/a> may be helpful here.\n<\/p>\n<h3>\n\t<strong>OpenDOAR<\/strong><br>\n<\/h3>\n<p>\n\t<a href=\"http:\/\/v2.sherpa.ac.uk\/opendoar\/\">OpenDOAR<\/a>\u00a0can be searched for data, but also for publications, software, patents, reports and conference materials.
